[ That gets another loud laughter out of Eizen. And with that laughter comes the most delightful smells of baked goods surrounding the both of them... weird. And kinda gross. No one should be that happy. ]

[ But he wasn't wrong. Eizen was already feeling like he was in a much better mood, despite how drunk he was and how embarrassing things were. And even though there were feelings left unsaid about things on both of their sides, it just... felt so nice to get back to this. Just them being stupid. ]

I've just been around longer, but can't say I've ever experienced a change in smell!

[He's laughing though, and...yeah it does feel nice. He does still wonder what had really brought Eizen down, what brought him this low that now he's actually feeling happen enough to smell like cookies (still weird, bro); but there's no point in bringing that up right now.

And what luck, they're nearing the edge of town so it won't be too much longer until they're back home on the airship.]

Along with the Serah stuff and the Eleanor stuff, there's some Edna stuff mixed in there too... And then you were getting mad at me and it just made me angry. It's felt like... I dunno everyone stopped understanding how to understand me and it's just... all stupid.

To be fair, Eleanor was affected by Gem so it was already tough. Serah...well it was just poor timing. As for me, I at least understood better, but I also just jumped to conclusions and assumed you were just being dumb because of your sister.

[ Eizen sighs a little and falls into silence as he leans into Rokurou again. It's hard to get all of his thoughts together without just shouting everything at the poor man. Honestly, Rokurou would get tired of hearing him if he was left to talk about it all, right? The drunken ramblings of an old man...

Still, Rokurou has asked him a few times now and he kept trying to change the subject but... Rokurou wanted to help. ]

It started with Eleanor... I know you said she was affected by gem and whatever, but... the way she reacted to me, I really pissed her off. Just being around me put her on edge... I had thought we got along just fine before, but it was like a switch flipped and I was her enemy... It's not like I'm used to that... It's why I mostly kept to myself before joining Aifread's crew. Anyone who could actually see me, I'd just end up scaring away or cursing... but it was still... bothersome, you know? Then Edna shows up and my emotions are off the charts...

[ He's gesturing like crazy with his free hand, as if he's talking so much just with the hand. ]

I'm crazy about her. Probably too crazy even... I love her so much so when she's involved I just... lose it which was why I went to Serah. But then I opened my big mouth and made her cry like a dumbass... and it was like... well there goes two people I should avoid now because who wants to deal with a man who makes them cry all the time...

[ Eizen just won't shut up. Being drunken like this makes him a dam and Rokurou was the idiot who opened it wide for all the bullshit to pour out. ]

Then you came to my room and I was already on edge about everything else, and you just came in already pissed you know? And I just got defensive instead of trying to do.... anything smart. So I fought back and Edna scolded me later, but I was just so pissed... because it felt like I was being replaced or some bullshit and it was real frustrating because I kept thinking to myself "didn't I support these two idiots when no one else would" so I just kept getting myself angrier and angrier and just...

[ Oops. Sorry Rokurou. Eizen shoves him away as hard as he could before falling to his knees with the most unpleasant of drunken sounds. Probably not smelling much like cookies anymore. ]

[...He is so glad he asked for that sake because after the rambling about Eleanor and seeing him still going, he's about to take another good drink out of it. However, to be fair to Eizen, Rokurou was in a similar position not that long ago, where he went on his own drunk tirades about Serah and unwanted feelings. So he listens, still supporting him, and... Is honestly kind of surprised to hear some of this. It's a side of the malak he's never seen before nor even suspected, and his eyes widen a bit at the "replaced" part.]

[And there's the shove. He's pushed away, taking a few quick side steps to not stumble too much, but then he just stands in his place to...stare down at Eizen.

Did...did he really make him feel like that?

He hears his brother's voice in the back of his mind (ugh).

We're both Rangetsu, got that fire in our blood for the way of the sword. But your path has always had others on it with you, if even temporarily.

Even Rokurou can feel some guilt seeing a guy he could consider a "best friend" down like that, especially when he helped caused it. At least this guilt is one he knows how to fix and won't dwell on for long.

So after giving Eizen a minute, he slowly steps towards him and squats down again like he did before.]

I had no idea. ...And I would have if I had listened to you in the first place. [A rough sigh as he runs a hand through his hair, palm resting against the back of his neck.] Sorry, Eizen.

[ He might need another minute, so hopefully he doesn't mind if Eizen doesn't speak up quite so soon as he tries to catch his breath. Who knew a Malak could puke just like a normal person... ]
